The Finnish Journal of Urban Studies publishes research articles, reviews, short communications and book reviews related to urban research and urban planning. The journal comes out four times a year. The journal has been published since 1963. In 1971, the name was changed to Community Planning (Yhteiskuntasuunnittelu) and in 2002 the original name was brought back.
The journal provides researchers interested in urban studies a scientific forum for publishing contributions of a high academic standard. For professionals in urban planning and other interested, the journal functions as a discussion arena for the whole wide field. At times, thematically focused special issues are published on topical subjects.
